Job Description

As a Functional Safety Engineer, your primary responsibility is to ensure the safety and reliability of SIL-designated products. Your key duties involve conducting meticulous assessments, implementing safety protocols, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to integrate safety measures into various phases of product development.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform functional safety assessments for SIL-designated products.
  • Provide assessments and verification aligned with IEC/ISO published standards
    (e.g., IEC 61508, IEC 61511, IEC 62061, ISO 13849).
  • Conduct FMEA functional safety analysis.
  • Develop and implement safety protocols, guidelines, and best practices.
  • Collaborate with design and engineering teams to integrate safety features into product development phases.
  • Identify safety-critical functions within projects.
  • Conduct presentations and awareness sessions on safety protocols and standards.
  • Safety Training (manufacturing and operations)
  • Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment
  • Job Safety Analysis (HIRA / JOB SAFETY ANALYSIS)

Duties Include:

  • Ensuring compliance with IEC/ISO published standards.
  • Conducting functional safety assessments.
  • Delivering FMEA functional safety analysis.
  • Developing and implementing safety protocols.
  • Collaborating with design teams for safety integration.
  • Identifying safety-critical functions within projects.
  • Responding to technical sales inquiries.

Qualification & Skills Needed:

  • Graduate in Electrical/Electronics or equivalent.
  • Minimum 2 years of electrical/electronics engineering experience, focusing on safety standards.
  • In-depth knowledge of electrical/electronic circuitry.
  • Background in electronic design; familiarity with embedded hardware and software design.
  • Basic understanding of software languages (e.g., C, C+).
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Awareness of Functional Safety standards (e.g., IEC 61508, ISO 13849, ISO 26262) is advantageous.
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative team player.

Added Advantage :

  • Familiarity with industry-specific standards and regulations related to the oil and gas sector and or Marine Robotics.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
